Fear

Katherina what's wrong? Are you ok?" He asked as I sat there staring at his stupidty.How could they not know? I was doing everything to make him understand but he just never understood and never would. So I would just have to explain it from the beginning....

"You don't understand and NEVER WILL!" I said harshly as a tear fell from my eye and rolled down my cheek just to meet the cold wooden floor.

"Understand what?!Katherina please tell me!" He softly raised his voice to something a little below a yell.

"As i said you will never understand so why should i even tell you in the first place! TELL ME WHY!" I started in a whisper but then raised my voice into something like a yell looking up at his shocked face. He then came closer to me and grabbed my arms and tilted up my chin so my gaze would meet his. As his grip tightened his eye's hardened and he looked at me with madness.

"WHAT ARE YOU HIDING TELL ME!" He yelled at me still gripping my arms but this time more forcefully. He was hurting me. He was reminding me of my past. The one thing i would never want to remember. The one thing that can break me all over again.

"STOP!! Your hurting me!" I yelled and eased into a whisper. He was hurting me, it was true but at this moment he was reminding me of those times with my father....

"Leave ....." I started in a whisper. "Me!" I raised my voice this time using venom in my voice to make me sound like a hostile animal about to charge at its prey. "ALONE!!!!!" I screeched making him take a step back. When my second tear fell from my eye and snaked down my cheek and splattered to a halt on the floor next to my foot.

"What is wrong with you?!?! KATHERINA TELL ME!!" He yelled , this time he sounded just like my father. It reminded me of the times when my father would abuse me and chase me as I was a little child , running , hiding , trying to escape the brutal beatings i would get from my father.

"LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME BE! THIS IS ALL JUST A DREAM! KATHERINA WAKE UP! LEAVE ME ALONE!" I screamed while sobbing sprinting up the stairs towards my master bedroom.

"KATHERINA!!!!!!!"  I heard his faint scream as I sat on my crimson sheets on my bed in my room. I was now sobbing uncontrollably and rocking back and forth.

"This is all just a dream , this is all just a dream , Katherina wake up, everything is ok , he won't come back , he won't hurt you, nothing will happen , this is all just a dream...." I kept whispering these words while sobbing into the tops of my knee's as i was hugging them against my chest in hope to protect myself from any unknown outside force that will rip me from my unstable trance. Then i heard a knock on the door... I screamed I knew it was him , he was coming for me , my mind screamed at me. But deep inside i knew that he was truly just trying to find out what is going through my head at these moments.

"LEAVE ME ALONE , LET ME BE , EVERYONE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!" I screamed and sobbed , my voice shaking and quivering with each word as i choked to find my voice that had for so long been lost.

"Katherina LET ME IN NOW!" He returned the yell.This made me shiver even more than before and my crying become even more uncontrollable. I kept asking myself questions. What does he want? Will he kill me if I let him in? Why won't he leave me alone? Is he out to hurt me like all the others? Without knowing it i stopped crying and slowly crawled off of my bed. I then slowly , taking small steps, made my way towards the door , my long scarlet gown dragging on the wooden floor.

"Katherina i just want to talk…Please let me in…" He said in a calm voice. I stopped now standing 2 feet away from the door wondering what would happen if I opened the door. Again he spoke but now in a sickly sweat voice that made my blood run cold and a prickly feeling run up and down my spine.

"What do you want?!" I said still sniffling , my breathing was heavy and my heart was racing as I then opened the door to find him standing in my bedroom doorway looking at me with a sick look in his eyes , holding his hands behind his back as if hiding something.

"I just want to play a game Katherina!" He said in a disgusted voice pulling his right hand away from behind his back to reveal a steak knife. It's blade shinning in the dull light of the room and his eye's sparkly with blood lust as he plunged the knife delicately into my heart making me gag on my own blood. I fell to my knee's hitting the cold floor hard. I was slowly fading into the darkness.

"Why? Why did you do this?" I asked slipping further into the darkness and finally falling to the floor landing on my back with both my pale now cold hands clutching the knife in a desperate attempt to pull the knife out in hope that I might survive.

"Because Katherina , you were just to strong and too smart for this world. You knew to much. Now you will never see the light of day again." He said in a cold voice. I could now hear his footsteps coming closer to me as I lay on the floor slowly sinking in a pool of my own blood that is surrounding me. He kneeled down next to me and stroked my cheek.

"Farwell my dearest angel Katherina." He said his voice now sad. As he returned to a standing position his footsteps got quitter until I faded away and was surround by a dark black emptiness , never to return from this forsaken abyss….
